Fifteen: Food Not Bombs
I always liked this version better than the version on Buzz. It’s the way Jeff holds his words out.
I was really happy they played it when I saw them a few months ago. -
Krupted Peasant Farmerz: Hemp For Victory
Friggin’ amazing band from the late 80s / early 90s. -
The Epoxies: Toys
I don’t know what it is about this song, but it just hits me right there, right in the gut. It’s definitely the synths, but I think everything just works so well together. -
New Green Day Live Album
I have a love / hate relationship with Green Day. Like many, Green Day was the band that got me into music. Dookie was the album that started me on the long road to punk rock. I loved it. I checked out their older stuff and loved it. I loved Insomniac. I loved Nimrod.
But then I kinda stopped. I have never listened to Warning. When American Idiot came out, I got excited again. I grabbed it the day it came out and… Was disappointed. It’s not a bad album, per se, but, at the risk of sounding like a bitter old punk, I just didn’t see what the big deal was. Everyone said it was SOOOOOO POLITICAL. No, it’s not. It’s kinda, vaguely political. The songs are pretty good, but nothing comes close to the charm of At The Library or Dry Ice.
Anyway, I didn’t mean for this to turn into a “BOO GREEN DAY IS TEH SUX NOW” post, because I don’t think that at all. But they are releasing a live album from a 1992 show, and the tracklist is AMAZING. So looking forward to this. -
The Frankenburies: Great Pumpkin (live)
This is my animation director’s old punk band. They broke up like 10 years ago. But they are getting together tonight to play a show for Halloween. So awesome! -

screeching weasel, teenage slumber party
I love this song. It’s just so sloppy and silly and fun.
It’s a teenage slumber party! Oh no, I’m losing my mind. -
Misfats: Hungry Moments

Might I have the pleasure tonight? I need the company.
The dead eyes of the city have got me reeling.
And I’m not much for dreaming.
You look like a grand hotel dressed in blue soliloquies.
You think that you can be that for me? And could you help me to wind down?Sometimes You Eat the Bar (Sometimes the Bar Eats You) by This Charming Man
